University of Coimbra (UC) and TU1304 COST Action are pleased to announce "WINERCOST’17 – THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON WIND ENERGY HARVESTING 2017 that will be held in the University of Coimbra, Portugal on April 20-21, 2017.
WINERCOST’17 is dedicated to "Wind Energy Harvesting: From Aeolian Farms to Cities of the Future" and will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of different aspects of wind energy and wind energy technologies in urban and suburban built environment in order to enhance the concept of Smart Future Cities.
The Conference is integrated in the Transport and Urban Development (TUD) COST Action with the same denomination. This COST Action aims to merge the efforts of the European research groups working on the Wind Energy Technology and the pathways to introduce it by means of robust applications to the urban and suburban built environment, thus enhancing the concept of Smart Future Cities. This action revisits safe, cost-effective and societally accepted wind energy technology for consideration in the design and development of the future urban/suburban habitat. In addition, the utmost important issue of the social acceptance strategy is scrutinized in close collaboration with municipality authorities, industry, manufacturers as well as the international wind energy organisations and platforms.
WINERCOST’17 will address topics as Wind Characteristics and Loads, Structures, Materials and Dynamics, Grid Integration, Operations and Control, Markets, Strategies, Policies and Socio-economics Smart Cities and Environmental Aspects.
